Cristalla — Seattle, WA
Honoring the history of the existing Crystal Pool – an Italian Renaissance building built in 1906 – and respecting the context of the Belltown neighborhood were the two driving forces in the design of Cristalla, a 23-story, high-rise condominium-retail project in the Belltown neighborhood of Seattle. Weber Thompson's strong design has been commended for its sensitive integration of the original building's elaborate terra cotta façade. A pergola-like facsimile of the building's original dome anchors the building's striking structural composition of alternating layers of glass.
