Nexus

Nexus celebrates Seattle’s fundamental fusion of nature and cutting-edge technology with an iconic residential tower that has already become a landmark. The concept was created from the idea that a tower could be sculptural and dynamic – implying motion and dynamism – rather than a static form. The most common question that we get is: does it really move or rotate? This is understandable because, as one moves around the project, it does appear optically to move.

Nexus Architecture

Seattle’s key defining features – nature and high technology – are fused in this iconic and visually striking residential condominium tower.

Twists & turns

The tower design is based on a concept of stacked and rotated boxes, each of which twists away from its counterparts by 4 degrees – for a total of 8 degrees of separation.

The dynamic result is one of implied motion – the tower seems to move as one moves around it. Deep reveals between these twisting boxes serve as wrap around garden terraces, bringing a bit of green to the tower, and breaking down the tower’s overall bulk and scale.

Terraces in the sky

These “sky-terrace” levels allow for multiple penthouse floors with wraparound decks, rather than one penthouse level at the top of the tower. Sculpted erosions at the corners of these levels allows for unique 2-story corner units, enriching the product offering. These townhouse units will feature 2-story glass encased living rooms with private balconies.

Nexus Interior Design

The interior design of Nexus softens the angular architectural with fluid, soothing palettes and natural materials while also incorporating the latest in integrated, high tech systems. The result is a welcoming urban oasis that gives home owners easier control over their environment with the touch of a button.

From the lobby, to the amenities, to each individual unit, Nexus is designed to spark inspiration, wellness, and delight.

Bold and uncompromising

One of the more striking features of Nexus is its 100% authentic art program. One of a kind murals, sculptures, and wall art adorn every common space.

Co-working centric

Nexus offers a wide variety of co-working spaces that range from cozy furniture booths, large board meeting rooms, and smaller enclosed offices.

Bespoke units

Every unit features luxurious, yet simple finishes and forms that draw focus to the beauty of the surrounding sprawling views. Units range from studios to penthouses, including a two-story Sky Loft. Thoughtful and unique space-saving layouts eliminate long winding hallways. Sliding barn and pocket doors further maximize square footage in the living areas that matter most.

‘Smart home’ living

The integration of technology is at the core of every unit. A custom Resident App integrates home, building, and property management in an all-in-one solution. This gives residents full control of all the smart home features that come standard in every residence.

The roof offers a glamorous sunning terrace with a live lawn and fire tables on either end of the patio to relax in when the weather turns wet. Multiple barbecues and dining areas allow small, as well as large, groups to enjoy the dramatic views of the Seattle skyline.

The urban edge

The street-level landscape design supports the building concept with a skewed paving grid directing pedestrians to the commercial corner. Plantings consist of dramatic bands of plants that twist along Howell Street with less intense plantings along the calmer Minor Avenue residential entry. Plant choices deliver intense contrast to the subdued paving.
