Weber Thompson is proud to announce the promotion of two team members within its high-rise design studio. John Stout AIA, LEED AP BD+C has been promoted to Principal and Mariah Marshall AIA has been promoted to Associate.
John Stout – Principal
John has been an integral part of Weber Thompson since 2014, bringing his collaborative design leadership to nearly all project types. With a focus on high-rise mixed-use/multifamily residential buildings, John has played a pivotal role in the design of several notable, award-winning towers such as the recently opened Ivey in the Denny Triangle and the Nexus Condominiums. His passion for high-rise design, technological advancement, and dedication to innovation is evident through his work on skyline-changing projects like Avenue Bellevue, Kiara, and The Ayer.
John is also a core member of the firm’s Design Dialogue group, contributing to consistent design improvement and collective innovation. In the community, John serves on the board for the Seattle chapter of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitats (CTBUH), also chairing the future leaders committee and helping mentor the next generation of AEC professionals.
Mariah Marshall – Associate
Mariah joined Weber Thompson’s high-rise studio in 2020. With over a decade of high-rise experience and a passion for the project type, she has made significant contributions as a senior project architect on towers including the residential portion of Cloudvue, a 600’ tower in downtown Bellevue, and 616 Battery, a 45-story residential high rise in Seattle’s Denny Triangle.
Mariah’s diverse skill set, strategic approach, and meticulous attention to detail are evident in her work, from documentation to detailing and technical work. She is a co-leader of the firm’s Quality Management group, emphasizing a commitment to excellence in every project. Mariah is a collaborative leader and an advocate for equity as a member of WT’s Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion Group. Outside of Weber Thompson, she is an active participant in AIA Seattle, ULI, CREW Seattle, and has attended the AIA Women’s Leadership Summit conference.
