Seattle project wins WoodWorks award | Daily Journal of Commerce

Cedar Speedster, a heavy timber retail-office building at 401 N. 36th St. in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood, received a 2021 Regional Excellence award from WoodWorks – Wood Products Council.

The winner of the Green Building with Wood award is The Kendeda Building for Innovative Sustainable Design in Atlanta, Georgia. The architect on the Georgia Institute of Technology project was The Miller Hull Partnership of Seattle in collaboration with Lord Aeck Sargent, a Katerra Company. The structural engineer was Uzun + Case and the contractor Skanska USA.

The three-story, 30,000-square-foot Cedar Speedster was developed by evolution Projects and Hess Callahan Grey Group.

Local architecture firm Weber Thompson was the architect and landscape architect for the building and interior designer for Revel’s new restaurant space in it.
