Have you noticed the crane in the sky framing the historic Pacific Tower in North Beacon Hill? Recently, Phase I (of II) for the development known as North Lot officially broke ground on this landmark site.
The ceremony included inspiring words from project partners and community stakeholders including the Pacific Hospital PDA, The Seattle Chinatown International District PDA (SCIDpda), El Centro de la Raza, and many others. A shared narrative emerged with each speech. North Lot is more than just a building—it’s a collaborative community effort to halt displacement and support the well-being of longtime residents.
The ceremony was graced with clear blue skies, and it was an honor to be there alongside other project and community members.
North Lot is targeting completion in August of 2024, and once complete, the intergenerational mixed-use development will provide early-learning education from José Marti Child Development Center, elderly support services, and affordable housing for families in the community. After almost seven years in the making, developer SCIDpda is thrilled to have the project come to life!
