Weber Thompson proudly announces that Associate Neha Goel has been awarded the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Seattle Young Architect Award. This distinguished accolade is presented to architects licensed for less than ten years who have shown outstanding leadership and made significant contributions at the early stages of their architectural careers.
“This recognition strengthens my resolve to deepen my engagement in design practice and the architectural community. I’m driven to expedite licensure for diverse candidates, enhance the synergy between design practice and academia, and fervently support sustainable mixed-use development.”
As a pioneering first-generation immigrant architect, Neha has been a vital member of Weber Thompson’s internal sustainability task force. Her career milestones include being appointed as the Licensing Advisor for Western Washington by the AIA Washington Council in 2023, selection in the AIA Align Mentorship program in 2022, and achieving her NCARB Certification in 2021; an achievement placing her among the elite 2.5% of Asian female architects in the United States.
Her influential research and contributions have garnered attention in both local and national architectural circles. Neha is renowned for seamlessly bridging the gap between practice and education, notably through her professional mentorship roles and her work as a liaison to the University of Washington Integrated Design Lab.
At Weber Thompson, Neha is currently overseeing the Construction Administration for 35 Stone, a mixed-use mass timber commercial office project located in Fremont. The project, part of the Seattle Living Building Pilot Program and aspiring for the International Living Future Institute’s (ILFI) Living Building Petal certification, is a testament to her unwavering commitment to sustainable design.
“Neha consistently brings her best to every aspect of her role at Weber Thompson. Her dynamic energy, unwavering optimism, and sense of humor make her a standout leader. We are especially proud of her trailblazing work in sustainable practices, which is now receiving well-deserved recognition from the broader architectural community.”
