Aaron Swain

Senior Associate, Aaron Swain was project manager during design of Solis, Weber Thompson’s Certified Passive House project in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. He is currently the Senior Project Architect on 616 Battery, a 45-story high rise in the Denny Triangle neighborhood.
Allison Rose

A passion for graphic design and marketing led Allison Rose to join Weber Thompson’s small but mighty communications team in 2016. Now with over 15 years of experience, she leads the firm’s digital marketing initiatives and campaign planning strategies.
Alyssa M. Mitchell

Alyssa has a passion for affordable housing and cultural architecture that provides a beneficial impact on surrounding communities. She is currently working on Laurel Village, graduate student housing for families, where she supports project design and documentation. Alyssa is an active member of NOMA NW, and a Co-Chair of AIA Seattle Diversity Roundtable.

Senior Principal Amanda Keating bridges the gap between aesthetic judgment and technical understanding. At Weber Thompson, she manages the design, documentation and construction administration of large-scale, mixed use projects with the firm’s mid-rise and high-rise groups. Amanda is renowned for her thoughtful, even-keeled approach and calm management style.
Austin Besse

Joining Weber Thompson from New York City, Austin Besse is a designer with a wealth of experience ranging from high-rise residential and hospitality design to high-end residential work for private clients. As a graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelor of Architecture, part of Austin’s design process and focus lie in the emphasis of design and technology, communicating each project’s ideas through strong visual graphics.
Bernadette Kelly

Interior Design Principal Bernadette Kelly has over 20 years of experience in interior and architectural design for projects all over the country and China, from commercial office tenant improvements to hospitality and residential design. She joined Weber Thompson in 2012, helping the Interior Design studio grow in size and reputation during the subsequent years. In 2016, she was promoted to Principal.
Blaine Weber

Senior Principal, Retired
Blaine Weber passed away in March 2023. He retired from Weber Thompson in March 2022, after dedicating 35 years to mentoring a generation of designers. Blaine will be remembered as a leader, designer, mentor, and friend who inspired everyone to speak up and believed that everyone had something valuable to contribute to the firm. His legacy will continue to resonate with the entire professional community and everyone at Weber Thompson.
Blaine is a passionate evangelist for urban living and the design and development of high-rise residential and mixed-use towers. He is a published author of numerous local and national articles on the subject. Blaine’s passion for re-invention is nourished by incessant participation in many forums for innovation and ideas. In 2006, Seattle Magazine selected Mr. Weber as: “One of 18 City Shapers, key players that are creating a new Emerald City”.
Brian Steinburg

Education
Since 2000, Brian has been involved in the design, documentation and management of urban high-rise and mid-rise projects at Weber Thompson. As a Principal, Brian manages large, complex, multi-year projects from pre-design to construction administration; he is a leader in the Quality Management Task Force, and runs the firm’s internal Project Manager Forum.
Brittany Porter

Senior Associate Brittany Porter is passionate about low-carbon architecture that promotes health and well-being for all. With experience in urban infill multifamily and commercial projects, Brittany strives to weave the technical elements of a building into the design concept, holistically integrating performance and aesthetics. She is currently the project architect and construction administrator of Northlake Commons, a life science lab-ready, mass timber, LEED Platinum workplace on the shores of Lake Union.
Carol Sanders

Education
Carol has been Weber Thompson’s admin guru since 1997. She is in charge of benefits administration, processing payroll as well as accounts payable, issuing client billings and all of those miscellaneous extras that arise. A calm, thorough approach gives Carol the ability to maneuver easily through the complexities of all these areas, and she enjoys working with staff, vendors and clients.

One might say that Associate Chelsea Gorkiewicz is a free spirit, except for the fact that she’s an extremely focused, hard worker with laser-sharp attention to detail when she’s in the office. It’s outside of the office, on evenings, weekends and week-long trips that she really starts to let loose. Whether it is learning to play the accordion, exploring the vibrant music scene in Seattle, or volunteering, she’s bound to be up to something interesting.

Design Principal Cody Lodi AIA, LEED AP has established himself as a design leader and a creative collaborator at Weber Thompson. He has over 15 years of experience working at all scales with a focus on creating healthy, high-performance architecture. He believes in leveraging emerging digital technologies and delivery methods to better inform the design process. Cody is a mass timber advocate and design lead in the Workplace studio.
Elise Stephenson

As Weber Thompson’s Front Desk Administrator, Elise is best described as a cool, calm and collected presence at the front desk. Whether she is directing visitors to their conference rooms, making sure our office is fully supplied, helping with accounts payable tasks, or lending a helping hand to anyone in the office who may need it, Elise’s dependable nature helps keep the office functioning day-to-day.
Elizabeth Holland

The nexus of where the operations of all departments converge, Elizabeth spends her days answering questions, dealing with challenges, focusing staff on priorities and answering more questions. It is a testament to her good nature that she actually enjoys this.
Elizabeth started at Weber Thompson in 2002 as the PR Director. She subsequently earned her MBA from the University of Washington and took over office operations focusing on analyzing the processes, business strategies and firm financials. Elizabeth was promoted to Associate in 2006, then Principal in 2007. In 2015 she became an owner in the firm, a highly unusual position for a non-architect in the architecture industry.

Emily believes housing is a basic human right. As an architect, this has drawn her to clients and projects that pursue affordable and equitable housing whenever possible.
She has a passion for high performance buildings and attained her Certified Passive House Design credential in 2017.
Eric Smith

Eric joined Weber Thompson in the summer of 2019 bringing a diverse range of experience that includes high rise, mixed-use, commercial office, and K-12 projects. He is one of WT’s office BIM gurus and helps coordinate MUP and building permit sets.
Erik Doran

Erik Doran still remembers walking down the corridors of the architecture office where his mother worked when he was a child in Alaska. Walking amongst the drawings and models, he knew that he needed to become an architect. For Erik, it is the process of deconstructing a building into tiny details that really excites him. He believes that the overall aesthetic is important, but the details make it special.

Erik wasted no time launching his career in architecture – he began interning at a firm when he was just a junior in high school. Since then he has spent over fifteen years gaining a variety of experience in multifamily, retail and most prominently, K-12 projects.
Taking the diverse challenges that architecture can present and synthesizing them into a cohesive, beautiful and functional design is what motivates Erik, and it’s one of his biggest strengths that he brings to all of his projects.
Jack Himmelheber

After joining Weber Thompson’s high rise team, Jack quickly established himself as an architecture and graphic design powerhouse, ushering through the design of Seattle’s Stratus before launching a two tower project in Bellevue. Both of these projects have an added attractive value for Jack – he can easily visit them.

Jason Hanner is a master of solving puzzles. Whether it is a detail he is drafting for a building, creating his own physical building models or working on his latest motorcycle – a puzzle is what draws him into a project. Since joining Weber Thompson in 1999, Jason has solved a lot of puzzles.
A graduate from the University of Washington where he earned his Masters in Architecture, Jason was first introduced to the world of architecture and design in his 9th grade drafting class. He has over 20 years of experience in mixed use and student housing in all phases from SD to CA.
Jeff Reibman

For over 25 years, Jeff has been working in the Seattle area with a focus on residential design. He has a particular interest in working with senior and affordable housing developers and organizations to help them maximize their financial capabilities and turn them into safe, healthy affordable homes.
Jennifer Primm

Jen Primm is a creative collaborator who wears many hats as the Senior Communications Coordinator at Weber Thompson. You’ll find her writing content, designing graphics, coordinating photo shoots, and sometimes illustrating unique story panels, like Nested: A Home for Chickadee. The core of her role is on the mighty marketing team, brainstorming ways to highlight the innovative concepts and designs behind WT’s incredible portfolio of work.
Jiao Mei

After completing two summer internships at Weber Thompson and receiving a Master of Architecture and Certificate of Urban Design from the University of Washington, Jiao Mei returned to the firm as a full-time employee in the spring of 2020. Her keen graphic sensibility, dedication to sustainability, and collaborative attitude have quickly made her an integral member of the firm.
Jill Myers

Jill brings an enthusiasm for design and a wide range of hospitality and residential experience to Weber Thompson’s Interior Design team. Her work has included a variety of luxury hotels and casinos around the globe, as well as unique amenity and living spaces in multifamily developments. In addition to drawing on her creative design strategies, Jill employs strong project management skills on every project she works on.
Jim Westcott

Weber Thompson’s master high-rise project manager, Jim Westcott has led numerous complex projects in the Pacific Northwest, including Nexus, Helios and The Post. His responsibilities range from design and project management to construction administration with extensive practice in mid-rise and high-rise residential, mixed-use urban infill and retail, and commercial and cultural projects.

Joining Weber Thompson at the beginning of 2020, Johanna began working with the affordable housing team. Having the opportunity to help build strong, inclusive communities is one of her favorite aspects of her job.

John is a core member of Weber Thompson’s High-Rise Design Studio, with a portfolio of design work that has impacted the Seattle and Bellevue skylines. His passion for high-rise design, advancement, and technology is evident is his designs projects like Nexus, Kiara, and The Ayer. John’s dedication to detail and vast experience with local jurisdictions has sped projects through design review and into construction.
Kristen Scott

Kristen Scott is Managing Partner and Senior Principal of Weber Thompson where she heads the Workplace studio. As Managing Partner of Weber Thompson for more than 20 years, she has overseen the growth of the firm from its beginnings to the sustainably focused 70 person multi-disciplinary firm it is today.
Lara Tedrow
Education
For her entire life, Lara has felt a connection to the world of architecture and design. Childhood memories of working on job sites with her dad, a general contractor in Bellevue, inspired her interest in pursuing an education and career path in the built environment. With utmost focus, Lara, began her journey from undergrad to five years at a design-build architecture firm, to graduate school, and then four month scholarship researching rural development in Scandinavia with Nordregio, a research institute. She interned at WT in the summer of 2021 and returned full-time in 2022 after many adventures in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, and Ireland.
Leslie Riibe

Education
Leslie is Senior Graphic Designer at Weber Thompson and a vital member of WT’s Communications Studio. She is the designer and gatekeeper of Weber Thompson’s brand assets and consults with project teams on building signage. Leslie has contributed to environmental graphics for projects including Ascent, Marlowe, Watershed, and Northlake Commons. She is also a type enthusiast who offers workshops to colleagues on typographic history and best practices.
Lisa Kim Bartin

Lisa’s career has been an exercise in building metaphorical bridges. Between interior design, master planning and architecture, Lisa relishes being the intersection of these different disciplines, weaving them in and out to create a fully integrated whole.

Marina Sosner

As an analytical thinker and someone who likes a good challenge, Marina enjoys the steep learning curve and complexities found in architecture. Growing up in a small, remote town in Hawaii she was eager to attend college in an urban environment far from home. She made the leap to Boston, where she earned a degree in Architectural Studies from Northeastern University. Upon graduation, Marina landed in Seattle, where she worked on a single project (from Design Development through Construction Administration) for four years. Looking for a change of pace, Marina started a new chapter in her career at Weber Thompson in 2022 as a Project Designer.

Growing up in big cities admiring the tall towers surrounding her, it was a natural fit for Melissa to go into high-rise design. She enjoys the early design process, being a big-picture problem solver, and seeing how the client’s vision comes to life throughout the design process.

Architecture has been a presence in Michelle life since she was small. Be it Legos or puzzles; she has always been drawn to the highly analytical and problem solving nature of architecture. Growing up in Austin, Michelle attended the University of Texas at Austin for her degree, then followed friends to Seattle after acclimating to the climate through an internship in Vancouver, B.C.

Monica Knapp arrived at Weber Thompson in 2007 with a background in Museum Collections Curating / Art Handling and Marketing. In 2011, she joined the Interior Design team and has since worked on a multitude of diverse projects, her favorite thus far being Stratus, a high-rise in Seattle’s Denny Triangle neighborhood.

Starting with an internship in Seattle and a Master of Architecture from Washington State University, Peter spent a decade working on various project types and running large projects at an architectural firm. Joining Weber Thompson as a Project Manager in 2023, he now focuses on principled design in affordable housing projects. Inspired by travel and fascinated by how people create a sense of place, he loves cooking and gardening during his downtime.

Rick Nishino

It is hard to overstate Rick’s importance to Weber Thompson. When he joined the firm in 1998 he brought extensive knowledge of construction administration and has developed CA into a core area of practice for the firm. Rick is a resource on CA for nearly all of the firm’s projects, oversees building code analysis, technical issues and quality assurance, and is the man everyone goes to with their construction questions. As a graduate from Washington State University where he earned his Bachelor of Architecture, Rick integrates his analytical mind and creativity into an array of areas.
Sam Castro

Sam Castro is Weber Thompson’s BIM Manager and an architectural designer excited to rejoin the Weber Thompson team after ten years away. He is engaged in facilitating the evolution from digital drafting boards to BIM (Building Information Modeling) and the collaborative ecosystem that allows for.

Since childhood, Sarah knew she wanted to be an interior designer. By the age of 11, Sarah was redecorating her room every six months, spackling, sanding, and painting her room herself, as well as refinishing thrift store finds to realize her own visions. It was only natural for Sarah to turn her passion for creating impactful spaces into a career.

Scott Thompson passed away December 12th, 2017 after a long fight with cancer. We remember him as a great mentor and good friend, who cared deeply about the people at Weber Thompson, and made sure that everyone who worked for him had their contributions and worth acknowledged and celebrated before his own. He is missed.
A Founding Principal at Weber Thompson, Scott Thompson retired at the end of 2015 with over 35 years of architectural and planning experience, specializing in high-density, urban infill and mixed-use buildings. He also worked on commercial structures, planned-unit developments, high-end condominiums, multifamily housing, hospitality projects, health clubs and custom single-family residences during his career.
Skye Bredberg

After earning her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in architecture, Skye Bredberg went on to work in retail design, multifamily, healthcare and office TIs. In 2014, she made the move to Weber Thompson because of the firm’s esteemed roster of multifamily projects, and to utilize her experience with feasibility studies, zoning, code, and site analysis work. She delights in untangling the web of codes – from zoning to building to accessibility – that govern the way buildings go together.
Stephanie Farrell

Stephanie Farrell’s previous career in mechanical engineering has given her a solid platform in spatial reasoning and technical know-how. Working at IBM in product manufacturing and later in technical sales at General Electric, Stephanie felt fulfilled but was never entirely passionate about the products she was designing and selling. So in 2013 she jumped ship and dove into the Master of Architecture program at UW, eager to follow her original dream of becoming an architect.
Tanya Kataria

Born and raised in India, Tanya was influenced by the rich architectural heritage of the Mughal and Colonial eras and found her calling in architecture amidst the rapid commercialization altering New Delhi’s landscape. Disturbed by the displacement of vernacular architecture with incongruous glass towers, she pursued a Master’s in Sustainability at the University of Pennsylvania, aiming to marry environmentally friendly design with modern needs.
A WELL Accredited Professional, Tanya’s commitment to sustainability is integral to her role at Weber Thompson. Part of the firm’s Sustainability Team, she actively contributes to advancing sustainable design and operations. Her work primarily focuses on creating equitable, healthy environments for Seattle’s underserved communities. Tanya’s notable contributions include her role as Project Architect and Designer for the affordable senior housing project, Patsy Surh Place and the award-winning Orenda workforce housing project.
