Solis, at 1300 E. Pike St. in Seattle, is the city’s second “passive house” apartment project.
The six-story building has 45 units, with a mix of studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments. It features corner retail with decorative steel, connecting the street with cafe seating. Residents have access to a rooftop deck with a green roof and dog run.
Passive house is a standard for energy efficiency in construction, minimizing the building’s ecological footprint by reducing energy use for heating and cooling by up to 80%.
Solis has high-performance HVAC, increased insulation and a specialized selection of windows and doors.
